I’m Dina Pinsky, Ph.D., the artist behind Dina Judaica.
Everything in Dina Judaica is designed by hand in my Philadelphia studio, inspired by the beauty of Hebrew letters, Jewish prayers, blessings, and the rich traditions of Jewish life. I love working with watercolor, acrylics, and gouache, bringing the fluidity of these mediums to my designs. My style combines abstract techniques with a modern take on Jewish ritual and text.
I’ve been creating art since early childhood, encouraged by my grandmother, who recognized my artistic talent and enrolled me in oil painting classes at eight years old. Over the years, I’ve explored many forms of creativity—painting, jewelry-making, knitting, crocheting, and more—always drawn to the joy of making things with my hands. Decades of experience as an academic has left me with a love of text which is central to my Jewish designs. My love of contemporary and abstract art, paired with the beauty of Jewish tradition, inspires all of the Jewish art I create.
